Hybrid car trend and the economy

Hybrid car technology has come a long way. When hybrids first came out people just thought they were stupid. They looked like some kind of futuristic dinky car that didn't exactly make you wanna jump in and drive it. Then gas prices soared and the world wide economy started to slow. Suddenly people didn't look at hybrids as a tree hugers best friend. Manufactures got a major boost in sales as hybrids flew off lots all over the U.S. Ford, Chevy, Honda and Toyota all have hybrids that are rather attractive to consumers. Many say that the hybrid car trend is here to stay. While others think that the hybrid car trend will slow as oil prices correct themselves and gas comes down in price.
